A very busy one its going to be.
Spring 2009 will see the first full length studio album "BELFAST CONFETTI" released Worldwide by Ricky in 4 years. Details about the label and various formats will be announced very soon.
A brand new merchandise store is also coming soon. The store will be overseen completely by Ricky and all sorts of different stuff will be available, including custom designs and one off personal orders.
All Ricky Warwick Websites will be giving a good old overhaul in the next few weeks to accommodate all of the new going s on and will include the exclusive artwork for the "BELFAST CONFETTI" album.
A video has been shot for the title track of the album and will be exclusively posted on the websites soon.
And of course there will be lots and lots of touring in 2009. Ricky plans to go to as many places as possible.

Its with very heavy hearts and immense sadness that we have to announce that our friend and one time manager of the Almighty Tommy Tee passed away very suddenly on the evening of December 23rd. all our thoughts at this time are with his wife, Jube and children Ben, Thomas and Charlie.
Tommy managed The Almighty from 1988 to 1993 and even after we parted ways he remained a firm friend throughout.
Ricky first got to know tommy when he joined New Model Army as a live guitar player for their world tour back in 1987. Tommy was their tour manager at that time and would later would go on to become their manager. The rest of us were lucky enough to meet him shortly after as, he was one of the main catalists that started what was to become The Almighty.
Tommy was one of those people who, when you first met, you liked straight away, he had a huge zest for life, a fantastic work ethic and above all a huge sense of fun.
Tommy was manager of The Almighty from day one, when the band first formed, it is fair to say that Tommy was as much an integral part of the band as any of the rest of us. No idea was too big and he instilled a confidence in us that made us all believe that anything was possible. He helped guide the band to from playing to 12 people at our first gig to playing in front of 80,000 people at Castle Donnington and having hit singles and albums. We always, to this day, consider him to be part of the band. He has always remained a loyal and true friend to all of us, a great family man and, above all, a true gentlemen. He will be terribly missed.

The shows are;
January 10th at The Mint in Los Angeles. Also playing sets at this show are Mark Hayes, Vivian Campbell and Lauren Monroe and Friends featuring Rick Allen of Def Leppard.
On January 22nd and 23rd Ricky will be supporting The Head Cat at Anaheim House Of Blues and The Roxy in Hollywood.
The Head Cat is the side band of Lemmy from Motorhead and Slim Jim from The Stray Cats!!

But as I am going to be over in Northern Ireland playing at the football match and doing a couple of Headline shows there.I wanted to try and stay on and at least do something. Due to touring costs The Almighty needed all 10 shows to be in place for the tour to happen, But when its just myself armed with the old acoustic, its fairly easy to get around. The song has been given the full backing of the Irish Football Association and the fan site Our Wee Country.
Says Ricky "This is a huge honour for me and a dream come true. I have watched Northern Ireland play many games at Windsor Park over the years, but to be able to stand on the Windsor park pitch and play my new single will be amazing."
From Ricky about Arms of Belfast Town, "I wanted to write a song about growing up and coming from Northern Ireland. I wanted to write about the old stories my father told me, the old characters and neighbours who would drop in for a yarn, friends, family, and places that meant and still mean so much to me. My boyhood heroes - George Best, Gerry Armstrong, and seeing Stiff Little Fingers for the first time and obviously Buckfast Tonic Wine."
Of course I am aware what Belfast Confetti meant back in darker times. There have been many great songs that have unfortunately been inspired and written about the troubles over the years and they have affected almost everyone in one way or another. It would be impossible to write about being Northern Irish and not mention them, but with the song "Arms Of Belfast Town" and in fact the whole album Belfast Confetti. I wanted to concentrate on all that's good, the humor, warmth, passion and belief of the people. The beauty of the country. I am blessed to have been to many amazing places all over the world. But for me personally nothing beats the view from Scrabo Tower looking out over Strangford Lough.
So what Belfast Confetti now means to me is a collection of stories, my own, my family's and my friends most of whom are scattered all over the world, but when talk turns to home, their eye's light up and the reminiscing begins. With all of the positive changes that have happened in the last 15 years, we now have people returning home in droves, instead of people leaving and moving away.
The single "Arms of Belfast Town" is due out in March followed a few weeks later by the new album "Belfast Confetti" on DR2 Records.]]>
