ROAD STORIES FROM EUROPE PART 1

Today I am In Aarhaus, Denmark. Its cloudy, cold and wet…. Ah the N. European weather!

We are 5 packed out shows into the tour so far and I honestly have to say on every level it is amazing. Keith and his band The Sad Eyed Ladies are fantastic musicians and above all some of the most genuine people I have had the pleasure to meet. Honestly, the vibe on the tour is one of complete harmony, no whining or moaning, just people playing their hearts out every night and making great music. Keith and his band put on one hell of a sonic performance every night. The starkness and beauty of some of the songs to the full on MC5 like energy on the new track “Troubles Down” is stunning. For me personally, the audiences have been wonderful, listening, embracing taking on board my music and I have been blown away by the reaction.
I am playing a few new songs for the first time “Love Owes” and  “I Can See My Life From Here” from the new Love Owes EP and a brand new song called “Throwing Dirt.”

Keith and his band asked me to join them onstage during my set and perform my song “I Can See My Life From Here” with them backing me up.  Not only is this a very unselfish and great display of friendship from Keith, but a great gesture of respect from a fellow musician and songwriter.  When I wrote and demoed the song, I felt that I captured something that would be very hard to improve upon. I was wrong. Keith and The Sad Eyed Ladies have taken the song to a new level and needless to say the first chance I get I want to record it with Keith and his band in the studio. We are filming most nights so I will post a live version of it up as soon as possible.

The Love Owes EP is for sale at all the shows and will be available through Townsend Records on October 8th. You can pre-order the EP here, or you could always come out to one of the shows and get it live in person.

Also on the road with us is the fine German Tattoo Artist - Jango. He is tattooing at the shows and if you want to check his work out and make an appointment to get some ink at the show go here www.myspace/jangotat2. I think I may well be adding some more ink myself. I recently got some new ink in LA before I left from Kevin Hinton @ Old Glory Tattoo so I am in the tattooing frame of mind right now. So please if you are thinking of coming to one of the shows, please do, you will have a great night. I promise.

There is a great UK author by the name of Alan Parker and his new book is called “No One is Innocent” a biography about the life and death of the punk rock icon Sid Vicious. It is a compelling read, a book that I could not put down until I had finished it. I was also very honoured that Alan used some of my lyrics from my song “Tattoos & Alibis” as the foreword to one of the chapters. Check It out !!!

The video for Circus Diablo’s song “Loaded” debuted last week. I am very proud that it is the #1 most viewed music video and #4 most overall viewed video on YouTube at the moment, with about 200,000 plays.

Please rate it after you have watched it, as it helps the cause of Rock n Roll, brothers and sisters!

The Almighty have announced a UK tour starting in January 2008 (you can out dates here - www.thealmighty.co.uk) to celebrate 20 years of the band.  It’s hard for me to believe it has been that long!  I am really looking forward to getting together with my old buddies, Stump, Pete and Floyd and damaging some eardrums next year.

That’s it for now. Please keep checkin’ back for updates, on more shows etc. as things are changing very fast around here!!!
Once again from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all your support, belief, compassion and understanding.
As Mr Keith Caputo said to me yesterday  “Rock n Roll, will be the birth and death of me.”

Amen to that.

RICKY WARWICK RELEASES A NEW 5 TRACK EP ENTILTED "LOVE OWES”

Four of the five of the tracks are Warwick compositions written in Joshua Tree, CA last year. The other track was co-written in Nashville with songwriter and friend, Angela Kaset. Warwick remarks "All of the songs were recorded in a day and meant to be demos, but I feel that they have a certain rawness and energy that I love, so I decided to release them as they are." The Love Owes EP will be exclusively available on his upcoming tour dates with Keith Caputo and available through Townsend Records in October.

Tracklisting:

1. Love Owes
2. I Can See My Life (From Here)

STORIES FROM EUROPE PART 2

THIS MEANS NOTHING TO ME OH…

Sorry, couldn’t resist the Ultravox cliché there. I've just done 7 shows in a row and have a day off in Vienna. The dreaded tour bus cold that is doing the rounds and has decided I am its next victim, so here I sit and type full of snot!

The shows continue to be nothing short of amazing and quite honestly I would have preferred to keep rolling than have a day off, as it breaks up the groove somewhat. Vienna is a beautiful city and I had a walk around today in the autumn sunshine and drank lots of coffee whilst listening to the new Steve Earle Album “Washington Square.”  I wasn’t sure what to make of it on the first listen, but by the second listen I was hooked.  I believe that the man is one of the best songwriters of our generation.  Now roll on the Boss’s new album next month.

I am hoping to get together with Keith on this tour and try and do some writing.  Also, if possible, I want to get Keith and his band The Sad Eyed Ladies into the studio to back me and record “I Can See My Life From Here.”  We have 2 days off in Glasgow, so maybe we could do something then…  now that would be very cool.

You can now order the new Love Owes’ EP at my myspace site and rickywarwick.com. It will be available on Itunes in about 4 weeks time.  This is the first release from my new label imprint – Trust Few Music.

I have added a headline solo show in Lisburn, Northern Ireland at The Cardan on October 17th.  It will be nice to end the tour on home turf.

I have been heading west for the last 5 years now looking for answers, dreams and love.  I found love about 4 years ago, but I still don’t have answers and I still have dreams.  Now I am heading east on this tour knowing that life will never cease to surprise me or let me down, with no limitations on experiences.

That’s all for now folks. I’m off to load up on cold medicine and hit the bunk. When I awake tomorrow we will be Italy.  Cuz for this Belfast Cowboy the European Rodeo keeps a rollin’ and I ‘aint complaining at all!

Cheers,

Ricky.
