ROAD STORIES FROM EUROPE PART 1

Today I am In Aarhaus, Denmark. Its cloudy, cold and wet…. Ah the N. European weather!
We are 5 packed out shows into the tour so far and I honestly have to say on every level it is amazing. Keith and his band The Sad Eyed Ladies are fantastic musicians and above all some of the most genuine people I have had the pleasure to meet. Honestly, the vibe on the tour is one of complete harmony, no whining or moaning, just people playing their hearts out every night and making great music. Keith and his band put on one hell of a sonic performance every night. The starkness and beauty of some of the songs to the full on MC5 like energy on the new track “Troubles Down” is stunning. For me personally, the audiences have been wonderful, listening, embracing taking on board my music and I have been blown away by the reaction.
I am playing a few new songs for the first time “Love Owes” and “I Can See My Life From Here” from the new Love Owes EP and a brand new song called “Throwing Dirt.”
Keith and his band asked me to join them onstage during my set and perform my song “I Can See My Life From Here” with them backing me up. Not only is this a very unselfish and great display of friendship from Keith, but a great gesture of respect from a fellow musician and songwriter. When I wrote and demoed the song, I felt that I captured something that would be very hard to improve upon. I was wrong. Keith and The Sad Eyed Ladies have taken the song to a new level and needless to say the first chance I get I want to record it with Keith and his band in the studio. We are filming most nights so I will post a live version of it up as soon as possible.
The Love Owes EP is for sale at all the shows and will be available through Townsend Records on October 8th. You can pre-order the EP here, or you could always come out to one of the shows and get it live in person.
Also on the road with us is the fine German Tattoo Artist - Jango. He is tattooing at the shows and if you want to check his work out and make an appointment to get some ink at the show go here www.myspace/jangotat2. I think I may well be adding some more ink myself. I recently got some new ink in LA before I left from Kevin Hinton @ Old Glory Tattoo so I am in the tattooing frame of mind right now. So please if you are thinking of coming to one of the shows, please do, you will have a great night. I promise.
There is a great UK author by the name of Alan Parker and his new book is called “No One is Innocent” a biography about the life and death of the punk rock icon Sid Vicious. It is a compelling read, a book that I could not put down until I had finished it. I was also very honoured that Alan used some of my lyrics from my song “Tattoos & Alibis” as the foreword to one of the chapters. Check It out !!!
The video for Circus Diablo’s song “Loaded” debuted last week. I am very proud that it is the #1 most viewed music video and #4 most overall viewed video on YouTube at the moment, with about 200,000 plays.
Please rate it after you have watched it, as it helps the cause of Rock n Roll, brothers and sisters! The Almighty have announced a UK tour starting in January 2008 (you can out dates here - www.thealmighty.co.uk) to celebrate 20 years of the band. It’s hard for me to believe it has been that long! I am really looking forward to getting together with my old buddies, Stump, Pete and Floyd and damaging some eardrums next year.
That’s it for now. Please keep checkin’ back for updates, on more shows etc. as things are changing very fast around here!!!
Once again from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all your support, belief, compassion and understanding.
As Mr Keith Caputo said to me yesterday “Rock n Roll, will be the birth and death of me.”
Amen to that.
